Shiro, what a fighter. He's a role model for being knocked down but getting back up after everything he went through.

Mephisto continues to show that he is a complex character even willing to deal with Satan himself. Can't forget Lucifer this season either. They really got all the big names and setting up for a climax soon. Exciting times ahead.

And with that, we've basically reached up to the point where this whole story began.. at the church with Father Fujimoto and the kids... wow.

I'll save my overall thoughts for next week, but yeah, masterclass of writing this arc has been from start to now.

I can feel that this season is a reward for people that still believe in this franchise. Even if they're probably less than 10% of 14 years ago.

We've basically come full circle now. Even though most of the survivors think Shiro is a traitor they still support him. Mephisto forces him to stay in the Order & raise the Twins. No way is he going to kill the last thing of Yuri left in the World. Damn, that is the most demonic of the demons in this Story, he will use & entrap anyone/everyone. LOL I still do not even understand his Endgame here. He certainly doesn't seem to be on the side of Satan or of Lucifer & the Illuminati.

Shiro shock after hearing Rick is dead u_u
Yeah, those trio is dead...

Sure Shiro, taking care of one baby is already stress, those who have twin child is more crazy to deal with..
I suddenly remember... Those 3 guy that Shiro come to asked for help is the 3 guy that Lightning interrogate with, aren't they? o_o
Mephisto put a 'curse' on them to not let them speak about that night huh? I see...

The whole 12 episode is Shiro and Yuri story, not bad I guess since Shura arc is so short u_u.

Aww Shiro as a papa was so cute.
During the last scenes with renovation, wouldnt it be safer when they do the works on the roof wothout their long coats?
And the big mystery still to be revealed - Rin's hair color.

I said it since the first season over 13 years ago, and I still think so; the true and only father of Rin and Yukio has always been and always will be Shiro Fujimoto. HONOR. đŸ‘đŸŒ

@Gator shonen fans when a shonen has an actual good writing instead nonsensical fights every 5 secs (they need their neurons to constantly fire to keep themselves entertained)

@Phantom6thMann What I don't get is, why do the complainers not drop this Anime if they think it's so boring? Seems better than wasting about 24 minutes of their life watching something they hate once a week.

@Phantom6thMann Yeah, that's why I love Frieren so much. It's action non-stop, my neurons were activated over and over.

@Karana321 I don't stop shows I started and I actually liked the first season. It's just that the new seasons are pretty boring and often nonsensical.

It’s touching to see Shiro’s character development.
From a selfish brat to a selfless father. He should’ve known he couldn’t beat Mephisto in a bet. Now he’s the Paladin who’s raising two demon kids, though he couldn’t help it for Yuri’s sake.

Rin and Yukio Okumura, named after their grandfather who helped raise their mother and died to save her. Intense.

Cunning Mephisto and evil Lucifer work against each other to make a new body for Satan, which is the catalyst for the war with the Illuminati we have currently have going on in the present timeline.

Shiro’s smile at the end shows how much Yuri had a big effect on him. He leaned on others for help and now had those willing to help him.

I reached the first two episodes of season one and it makes me depressed everytime knowing what happens in the end.

One of the most impactful prequels I’ve seen. Hits you hard knowing everything that’s happened and seeing how it all started.

What a shame to comment on this episode so late in the day... But what can I say? Studying takes up a lot of my time.

But let's forget these trifles and focus on this 11ᔉ episode, the true pinnacle of this fifth season of Blue Exorcist.

This episode deftly juggles contrasting emotions. On the one hand, we discover Mephisto's “family” and his relationships with the other Baal kings. I was pleasantly surprised by Voln's artistic direction for this sinister place. Perhaps it's due to my recent reading, but I see a hell much closer to Lovecraftian visions than to traditional religious representations. The atmosphere is oppressive, almost suffocating, and reinforces the disgust inspired by these demonic beings, guided only by their own self-interest. Between a Satan eager for domination, a subservient Lucifer and a Mephisto constantly playing on ambiguity, we soon realize that their alliances are nothing but illusions. Fortunately, the Myoda stands by our favorite priest.

But the real highlight of this penultimate episode is the dive into Shiro's past after Yuri's disappearance. This is where his development really comes into its own. He, once cold and cynical, finds himself raising the children of the woman he once loved alone. And despite the singular nature of Rin and Yukio, these family moments exude an unexpected gentleness. After so much hardship and pain, seeing these carefree moments is a welcome relief. This return to our heroes' tender childhood resonates all the more strongly when we know the tragic fate that awaits them. But for now, all we can do is savor these moments at Shiro's side.

Yuri's impact on him is undeniable, whether through the choice of the twins' first names or his gradual openness to others. Thanks to her, he finally learns to rely on those closest to him and to smile sincerely.

There's just one episode left before the end of this extraordinary journey, which will have lasted over a year. Of course, I still hope to see the anime continue and adapt the rest of the story, but rather than harboring uncertain expectations, we should first and foremost salute the work accomplished. So, from the bottom of my heart: thank you, Voln, for this magnificent gift.

I wonder, what was that body that they finally managed to create? Is that the body Lucifer would use later on?

Also the research going on at Section 13 is still going then. Of course we knew that because of the Illuminati, but it's also working under cover of the order. That scientist that survived section 13 is still working for the order in the present.

One episode left... I'm not ready for this :(
