In the 2011 census, there were a total of 1,216 inhabitants in the area, all in the settlement of Novo Virje.[3]

In the same census, Croats formed an absolute majority.[4]

History

In the late 19th century and early 20th century, Novo Virje was part of the Bjelovar-Križevci County of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
